On their bikes, Graeme and his customers are able to cover so much ground visiting the secret spots that are off the tourist route.

We were lucky enough to tag along with Graeme and pick his brains about his experience switching over to Rezdy.



What frustrated you about your previous booking system?

Can you summarize the points of frustration that you faced with your bookings before you started to use Rezdy?

Well, it was a matter of in the very beginning, getting people to contact me and email me and make bookings by direct contact - but that's not what people want. They actually don't want to talk to you. They just want to use the internet and use a system where they can do it in a very short space of time. They've decided to do the tour and they want to book it. They don't want to waste time talking to anybody.

Unless they've got specific questions about a corporate tour maybe, or children, or health issues or maybe diet issues, then they just want to do it online. And Rezdy has made that a lot easier for us and probably expedites people booking and getting it done quickly, and leaving all their details. It's a very good system. People can leave their heights and their dietary requirements and anything else they'd like to say that we should be aware of before we take them on a bike tour around Sydney.



What were the implications for your business if you hadn't managed to fix this problem?

What were the implications for your business if you hadn’t managed to fix that problem - was it serious?

Well, every tour company needs a booking system. We had a booking system prior to Rezdy, but Rezdy have kept evolving and kept improving their booking system, adding things. Probably the best thing that I've experienced in signing up with Rezdy is being able to change things myself - like for example, if we need some time off. 

My business is a family business and if I need time off, I can go to the Rezdy website and just say that for the 2 days over the weekend we want to go away, I can just make the tour unavailable for that particular weekend. Or if I need a day to go to a wedding or something else like a funeral, then we can always get onto the Rezdy website quickly.

It's very easy to block out a day or even a week, to make it available for us or for other tour leaders we can leave it on of course, but the Rezdy system makes it really easy to change things yourself which is a massive advantage of being with Rezdy.

Well, I had a system where you couldn't change things yourself, so you would have to send an email. The system I had was often dysfunctional, so I haven't had that problem with Rezdy. The Rezdy system has always worked for me, which has been extremely satisfying to have this working and not break down.

Having that ability to change things - it's been a little bit higher cost, but it's been worth it to have that. The depth of the website on Rezdy is quite amazing and it's being improved all the time, so it's very detailed, everything's been thought of to include on the Rezdy booking system. There's probably a lot of things that I haven't even tried to do yet on the website, but I know there's a lot of things I can improve using a lot of the facilities that are there.

  • The ability to change your price and structure yourself, so it's like your own booking system really;
  • And there's a help line. There's a help button if you're struggling with anything, and they get back to you quickly to sort anything.


Did you experience any direct business benefits from using Rezdy?

Did you experience any direct business benefits that you can share with us?

I haven't had any complaints with people booking the system. Sometimes I have got on there and changed things - changed the price structure - and I think I've made a mistake but that's been my fault.

So I'm sure it's improved the sales and the number of people booking online without having to talk to anybody because that's what people like to do. They like to make their bookings on their iphone or on their ipad and get it done expediently.



What would you say to other businesses in your sector thinking of trying Rezdy?

I think they should be willing to give it a shot, because certainly I think the Rezdy business model is very good. I think they should give it a go. You can sign up for a short time and see if it works for your business. It certainly has worked for mine.



What's the single biggest reason that you would recommend Rezdy?

I think the main reason is being able to change things on the website on your booking system yourself, rather than having to call up somebody and say, 'look, I'd like to make a change, when can you meet?' or 'when can you do it?' - being able to do that is a big advantage.
